Today is Godzilla Day! An excellent opportunity for fans across the globe to celebrate one of the most iconic movie monsters.

Since its debut in Japanese cinema in 1954, Godzilla has developed from just a giant radioactive monster to a cultural icon. Inspiring filmmakers and creating many movies across the decades.

The reason Godzilla has remained such an iconic character is because of its ability to stay relevant. From its original terrifying film reflecting the worries of post-war Japan and the destruction caused by nuclear weapons, to the amazing monster fights in later instalments, Godzilla has always found new ways to entertain.

Godzilla Day is the perfect time to watch one of the latest highlights of the franchise, Godzilla Minus One.

A Special Godzilla Day Delivery

As well as celebrating Godzilla Day today I received my Godzilla Minus One SteelBook today, which makes for a great year of Godzilla Day! It is always great to add a beautiful edition of one of your favourites to your physical media.

I cannot wait to watch it again and put together my review for Godzilla Minus One ahead of Godzilla Minus Zero this week.

It was a truly impressive movie. The monster action was epic and the human story was surprisingly touching.

The movie had a unique feel thanks to it focusing on post-war Japan. The main characters gave the movie an emotional base meaning that Godzilla causing destruction really felt like a catastrophe.

It reminded me why the best Godzilla movies are so much more than just the monster. They know that having characters you care about makes the spectacle even better.

Looking Ahead to Godzilla Minus Zero

With Godzilla Minus Zero arriving this week, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to. Following the success of Godzilla Minus One, expectations are understandably high, and I’m particularly interested to see how the next chapter develops the story and builds on what made its predecessor so memorable.

I’ll be revisiting Godzilla Minus One before turning my attention to the new film, so keep an eye out for my review.

Long Live the King

Whether you have been a fan since 1954 or you have gotten into Godzilla through more modern movies by Japan and Hollywood, today is a great reminder of what an amazing franchise this is!

There are few characters in film that continue to be relevant through time. Godzilla has constantly evolved and whilst still keeping the aspects that made him iconic. He can be scary, sad, destructive and strangely relatable at times.

A very Happy Godzilla Day to you all! The King of the Monsters is an awesome addition to my SteelBook collection. We also have some exciting new content coming soon!

Godzilla lives on!
