September 2026 Movies

September 2026 movies gave us plenty to talk about, with several major releases arriving throughout the month.

There was something for almost everyone, from horror and fantasy to action, animation, and superhero blockbusters.

September’s Biggest Releases

Some of the month’s biggest releases included Resident Evil, Hope, Practical Magic 2, and Heart of the Beast.

We also had Don’t Look Back in Anger, Fall 2, and Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom adding plenty of variety.

Sense and Sensibility also joined the month’s impressive selection of cinema releases.

Of course, Avengers: Endgame Encore was another major highlight for Marvel fans.

The screening also brought our Marvel movie reviews to an end, at least for now.

A Strong Month for Marvel

September happened to be quite an exciting month for Marvel’s movies in the cinema. Spider-Man: Brand New Day also kept performing really well in the theaters that month.

Avengers: Endgame Encore also contributed towards the huge profits that it made in its initial theater run.

And it was just the right movie to close out our Marvel film review month with.

The IMAX reign of The Odyssey also ended this month.

Smaller Releases and Hidden Gems

September also had several smaller releases that deserve attention alongside the month’s biggest movies.

Bad Apples, The Incomer, Runner, and The Queen at Sea all brought something different to cinemas.

These films helped make September feel varied, rather than being dominated entirely by major studio releases.

They also gave audiences more opportunities to discover films beyond the biggest names and franchises.

International Cinema

There were also some interesting foreign-language releases throughout the month.

De Gaulle: Liberté gave audiences an opportunity to experience French cinema on the big screen.

It was another example of the variety available throughout September.

Throwback Cinema

September also delivered some exciting opportunities to revisit older films on the big screen.

Michael Mann‘s Manhunter returned to cinemas, giving audiences another chance to experience the crime thriller theatrically.

The 1986 animated movie The Transformers also received a welcome cinema outing.

These releases offered something different from the month’s newer blockbusters.

Looking Ahead to October

With October nearly here, there is already plenty for movie fans to look forward to.

The month promises several major releases, including Clayface, Verity, Digger, Street Fighter, and Whale Fall.

There are plenty of other releases coming too, giving us another busy month of cinema ahead.

September was a strong month for movies, with blockbusters, smaller films, throwbacks, and international cinema.

It offered plenty of variety and gave us many films worth discussing throughout the month.

Now, October is ready to take over with another packed selection of films.

Whatever the next month brings, there is certainly plenty for movie fans to look forward to.
