Hayden Panettiere Passes Away: Tragic Loss at 36

Hayden Panettiere, American actress and singer famous for her parts in the shows Heroes, Nashville and Scream Series, is dead at 36 years old.

The news of Hayden Panettiere’s death was confirmed on Sunday, August 16, by her publicist and her father Skip Panettiere.

“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her,” her family said in a statement via her publicist. Her family requested privacy while mourning. No official cause of death has been announced at the moment.

Born in 1989 in New York, Panettiere started performing even when she was just a child. She had done some work for commercials and soon gained fame as a television actress.

Some of her initial works include One Life to Live and Guiding Light, after which she featured in the films Remember the Titans, Ice Princess and Racing Stripes, as well as being one of the voices in the Pixar film A Bug’s Life.

However, it was not until 2006 that Panettiere really made her mark on the world of entertainment.

She was chosen to act as Claire Bennet in the science fiction series Heroes on NBC, which is about a seemingly average high school cheerleader with the unique ability to recover from any injury.

Also, this book gave the reader an insight into how severe her alcoholism was. It turns out that a physician told her once that she would die in five years if she kept on drinking.

She admitted in the memoir that she went through a very long treatment program and the excruciating process of detoxification and healing.

However, This is Me: A Reckoning is not just a story about her hardships. In interviews promoting the book, Panettiere discussed how she decided to take back control of her narrative and speak about hope people should have after all that happened to her.

By telling her stories publicly, Panettiere added another aspect to her career which had been already spanning several decades.

The starlet died just several months after publishing that memoir when she already started speaking more openly about her past and the journey towards recovery.

In the last years of her life, she was able to return to acting and worked on new films despite all the problems she faced throughout her entire life.
